Roski Slap is a stunning series of cascading waterfalls nestled in the heart of Croatia’s Krka National Park. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful “necklace” of falls, it offers a quieter alternative to the more famous Skradinski Buk waterfall.

The Ozidana Pecina Cave

The Old Watermills

These charming watermills, some of which date back centuries, are dotted along the river near the waterfall. They’ve been restored to show how locals used the power of the river to grind grain—a unique insight into traditional Dalmatian life.

The Panoramic Viewpoint

For the best vantage point, walk up to the hilltop viewpoint above the falls. From here, you’ll see the full sweep of the Roski Slap cascades and the Krka River winding through the gorge—an incredible spot for photos.

The Krka Monastery

The nearby Krka Monastery is just a short boat trip from Rloski Slap and makes a perfect addition to your visit. Surrounded by cliffs and river views, this 14th sentury monastery features Byzantine architecture, ancient frescoes, a peaceful courtyard, a Roman catacomb, and is home to a small community of monks.

Tips to note when visiting Roski Slap

  • You can get to Roski Slap via car, it's about 15 km from Sibenik and 10 km from Skradin. There’s parking available near the entrance. Want a more scenic route? Take a boat from Skradin or Lozovac directly to Roski Slap.
  • Capture the waterfalls from the wooden bridges during early morning or late afternoon for the best light. Don't forget to bring a waterproof case or lens cloth!
  • The main trail around Roski Slap is easy to moderate, suitable for most visitors. Expect about 1 to 2 hours to explore the area at a relaxed pace. Don’t forget to wear sturdy footwear though.  
  • Swimming is not allowed at Roski Slap to preserve the natural environment, but you can enjoy guided nature walks offered by the park. 
  • Skradin town, just a short drive away, offers a range of local restaurants serving fresh seafood and traditional Croatian dishes like pasticada and grilled fish.
  • For a more immersive nature experience, consider staying at some eco-lodges and campsites that are available within the park area.
